Don Sanborn grew up savoring the unique sourdough products made by bakeries in the San Francisco Bay area. In February 1991, Don opened his first bakery in Las Vegas, Nevada, becoming the city's only maker of San Francisco-style sourdough bread. It's the "starter" that gives sourdough the unique taste that people love.
More Than Bread Sanborn Bakery's starter came from the Bay Area and is 130 years old. Each day, a portion of the starter is used for baking, and the remainder is fed and replenished to ensure a long life. It takes 20 hours to make one loaf of Sanborn Sourdough Bread.
