Here are some reasons Ive learned first hand through conducting the many thousands of weddings Ive performed in Las Vegas. First of all, I would like to mention that more than 110000 marriage licenses are issued in Las Vegas each year! That is staggering.

Convenience: There are many easy and convenient location choices you can consider. The marriage bureau only requires picture IDs from the couple and the marriage license is then issued on the same day with no waiting period or blood test. A lot of couples come here to elope and dont want to wait once they have made the decision to get married.

Privacy and Low Stress: I have performed many weddings where couples prefer to have the ceremony in their home with a private setting. Quite a lot like of couples the privacy of their hotel suites or a quiet resort location and choose to only have one witness present. They have told me that is just what they wanted. Las Vegas provides a low stress, low cost solution to what can be a very stressful occasion that would otherwise demand a lot of energy.
