I proudly served four years in two United States Naval Mobile Construction Battalions (NMCB), NMCB-10 and NMCB-5 during the Vietnam Era. I deployed twice to the Indian Ocean base at Diego Garcia and, unknowingly at the time, helped prepare for the actions in the Persian Gulf. I participated in decommissioning NMCB-10 in 1976 and provide historical information about her I have found nowhere else on the web.
