When you walk into MoonDog Records you'll be greeted by Clint McKean, the owner of MoonDog records, who is unmistakable by the ever growing rock beard that he sports. And if you like to talk music, and especially vinyl records of course, Mckean will share his love of music with you. You'll learn that the vast collection that sprawls the length of the walls, and continues to grow, started out as his personal collection that he really only started collecting in 2009. Since then, McKean's collection has grown from a few hundred albums to the double-digit thousands along with turntables, CD's, cassettes, collectible memorabilia, boom-boxes (which he is extremely proud of), band shirts, guitars, amps, and even the informative music book. This man lives for the music. When he's not at the store, which is rare, the urge for vinyl never leaves him and he is probably out scouring Vegas and other areas looking for replenishment vinyl and other goodies for the store. McKean's love for the vinyl record, which he considers to almost be art over the still popular CD and always growing popularity of the digital download, made him want to share his passion with people and provide them with a music format that isn't just tangible but has a history and a retaining value.
