Nevada Stairs, Inc. began when Pete Kueffner and Russ Emerich worked together at the same stair company. Both were discouraged at the level of quality and customer service being provided. They felt that between the two of them, a new kind of Stair Company could result. A company that would keep quality and customer service as the first priority and allow them to be creative and put their ideas to work.
They got started on August 1st 1994 when both resigned their current positions as stair installers. Pete, at the time, was the senior installer and had been with the company about 8 years. Russ, a lead installer, had been there about 2 years.
For the first year the company was run out of Petes garage. It started slowly, as a customer base was built. All the work including sales, purchasing, shop work, installation, billings, and other duties were performed by the two of them. Soon they moved into their first shop, near McCarran Airport. At the time, it seemed like a huge place with room to spare. As time passed, Nevada Stairs operation outgrew that shop and in March of 2000 was moved to its current location. The company currently has 25 full time installers and 13 support personnel. Nevada Stairs offers a wide variety of custom staircases, using hand selected hardwoods to create what amounts to permanent pieces of furniture, that are often the focal of point of a home. Nevada Stairs installers are trained to leave a product that they can be proud of and that customers will enjoy for a lifetime.
One of Nevada Stairs specialties is the freestanding circular stair. This, is a staircase which is not supported by walls or other supports. In this process, sheets of mahogany are used to form curved stringers. Stair treads and risers are then attached to these stringers.
Always on the cutting edge of its industry, Nevada Stairs is constantly researching and testing new stair designs and styles. We offer many styles of wood and metal spindles and scrollwork. We work with the builder and/or homeowner to make dreams into a reality.
